Issued in October 1951 to celebrate the 'Week of the Wing' and the 50th anniversary of Santos-Dumont's flight around the Eiffel Tower. In December the Brazil Philatelic Club produced engraved facsimiles to celebrate their 20th anniversary. These were applied to souvenier sheets but 530 overprinted stamps were held back.
